Info:The Dalles Mountain Ranch is a sprawling working ranch that covers most of the north slope of the Gorge to the crest of the Columbia Hills at 3000 feet. The entire ranch was deeded to the state of Washington by the last owners, and is now a state park (Columbia Hills State Park), accessed by cars and hiking trails. It presents unbelievable vistas of the Columbia Hills, the Gorge, the Columbia River, Mount Hood, and the wheatfields of Oregon stretching from the river southward to the limit of vision. Amenities:

From Oregon: Driving east or west on I-84, take exit #87 and drive north on U.S. 197 across the Columbia River bridge. Continue north about 2.5 miles to SR 14, and turn right, heading east.
