Meet the artists at this opening reception. Their works will be displayed through June 27, 2009.

Mike Newman, acrylics & multi-media
Mike is an artist from The Dalles. He paints, in reverse, on glass with acrylics. He graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art with a  Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2001. Since graduating, Mike has been showing his work in Portland, Hood River and The Dalles.

Cameron Kaseberg, photography & multi-media
The work Cameron is doing continues his study of color, texture and imagery, both in the world of photography and solvent transfer work. Using images captured by his own camera as well as those collected in print matter. Cameron's current work is a continuing exploration of this transfer process. The images are combined to create both complex and simple works, always with a reason, whether a personal statement, exploration of the medium or simply a record of thought and feeling. Enjoy the journey, the mystery and the fun. Cameron was raised in The Dalles and recently moved to Bend, OR.

Melanie Thompson
Melanie's pieces are hand-built using a variety of processes including slab, coil and casting. Most recently, she collected some large pillow basalt rocks from the debris of a broken ice damn on Mt Hood. The vessels created by using the boulders as forms are wonderfully odd and very fun to craft. Color is a strong component to Melanie's work. Richness and depth are achieved through multiple layers of hand-applied pigments both in bisque and final glaze firings. Hood River is home to Melanie and her husband Perry.
