Description

There is a fabulous cellist in town, An-Lin Bardin, here this week from NY to prepare for her critically acclaimed string quartet, The Vinca Quartet (www.vincaquartet.com), which will be coming to The Gorge several times throughout next year as artists-in-residence. They will be sponsored under a collaborative arts/education grant to work with younger music students in the public schools by introducing string instruments. An-Lin is visiting the area for the first time, meeting and planning with teachers, AND preparing a very exciting concert with local Mosier resident Karen Eddleman-Hunley.

The music will be some of the best in the repertoire and will include Beethoven's Cello Sonata in A Major, Op. 69, and Schumann's Fantasiestucke Op. 73, plus some other exciting pieces. The concert will run about one hour, so bring your kids if you think they would enjoy it! Concerts are as much a part of education as teaching is and they can provide that all-important element of inspiration.
